The Local Medical Commission

The Local Medical Commission assesses the physical and mental fitness required for the issue, reclassification, or re-examination of a driving licence.

It's not a visit you choose: you go when required by law or when a doctor recommends it. Below you'll find all the applicable conditionsโ€”and if you fall into one of these categories, we can book an appointment for you.

  • driving licence re-examination ordered for drunk driving
  • possession or use of narcotic substances
  • disability reports
  • verification of the persistence of the psychophysical suitability requirements
  • notification by the certifying doctor during the renewal of the driving licence

  • 30 โ‚ฌ Appointment booking
  • 40 โ‚ฌ Payment of payments to the Motor Vehicle Department with PagoPA
  • 20 โ‚ฌ Issuing a temporary driving permit if your license has expired
  • 40 โ‚ฌ Only a temporary driving permit will be issued if the appointment was made independently.

If your license has already expired , you cannot drive while waiting for the medical examination. Ask us for a provisional driving permit : this allows you to drive regularly until the commission's outcome.
