Duplicate of the vehicle registration document
Have you lost your vehicle registration document or Single Document? You can request a duplicate, but you must first report it to the police.
📋 How to proceed
- 1 Report the lossTo the Carabinieri, the police, or other law enforcement agencies. Keep the copy you receive; it will be used for the paperwork.
- 2 Request a duplicateWith the police report and the owner's documents, you apply for the issue of the new vehicle registration document.

Without a report, nothing can be done. It's the mandatory first step: the case can't be started until you've filed it.
📄 What you need
- Paper Certificate of Ownership (Cdp)document issued by the PRA until 04/10/2015
- Electronic Identity Card of the owneror other document together with the tax code
- Owner's residence permit (if non-EU citizen)If the residence permit has expired, submit appropriate renewal application forms.
- Report of loss
