At our nautical school, courses are taught by qualified personnel . We provide all participants with a textbook and all the necessary teaching materials to prepare for the exam.
- 🔄 Continuous cycle The courses do not have a fixed start date: you can start whenever you want.
- 🌙 Evenings and Saturday mornings Meetings are held at our office, at times compatible with work.
- 📝 Exam simulations We approach all topics with simplicity and practice on real tests.
- 📍 Exams in Pisa and Livorno Within 12 miles and D1 at the Civil Motorization Office in Pisa, beyond 12 miles at the Port Authority in Livorno.
Practical tests are also available on weekends. If you can't make it during the week, we organize sea trips on weekends.
🆕 The new training boat
From this year onwards, the exercises will take place on a brand new vessel , specifically chosen for those who are learning: stable at sea, with a modern dashboard and maneuverability that makes mooring and maneuvering in port natural, which is precisely the part that causes the most anxiety for beginners.
The onboard instrumentation is what you'd find on a modern boat: electronic charts, digital instruments, navigation and safety equipment. You learn from what you'll use, not from vintage equipment.

- 📡 On-board technology Chart plotter and digital instrumentation, the same ones you'll use once you get your license.

⚓ The category A boating licence
It enables the command and operation of pleasure boats and vessels , up to 24 meters in length. It is divided into two levels.
- Within 12 miles Navigation up to 12 miles from the coast
- Without limits No distance limit from the coast
These licenses authorize the command and operation of motor , sailing , or sailing vessels with auxiliary engines , and motor sailers. Upon request, they can be issued for the command and operation of motor vessels only .
What we do. Our nautical school offers motorboat licenses within 12 miles and beyond 12 miles , as well as the D1 license .
Motor license within 12 miles
The exams are taken at the provincial office of the Civil Motorization in Pisa .
- €1,100 — theory course, 5 hours of driving, teaching materials and exams
- €100 — PagoPA Motorization payments
- €70 — medical examination and stamp duty
- €90 — any additional driving hours, only if requested
Extension beyond 12 miles
For this extension the exam is taken at the Port Authority of Livorno .
For those who already have a license within 12 miles and want to extend it without limits from the coast.
- €600 — license supplement
- €70 — medical examination and stamp duty
As provided for in Annex III of Ministerial Decree no. 142 of 30/08/2023, a minimum tariff must be implemented starting from 1 October 2025.
🛥️ The category D1 boating licence
The D1 nautical license allows you to navigate within 6 miles from the coast , with boats up to 12 meters and engines with power not exceeding 115 HP, exclusively during daytime navigation .
- 6 miles Maximum distance from the coast
- 12 meters Maximum length of the vessel
- 115 HP Maximum engine power
- 16 years old Minimum age to obtain it
It's the first step, not the last. You can obtain it at age 16, and upon turning 18, you take a supplementary exam to obtain a higher-category license.
The tests are taken at the Civil Motorization Office in Pisa.
- €700 — theory course, 5 hours of driving, teaching materials and exams
- €70 — medical examination and stamp duty
